Offset Your Footprint & Support a Local Green
Project At the Same Time!

Landfill Methane Energy – New Bedford, Mass. This 3.3 megawatt New Bedford Landfill Methane renewable energy plant uses otherwise-wasted landfill gas to generate clean energy while preventing methane, a greenhouse gas that is more than 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide, from venting into the atmosphere. This innovative plant generates approximately 26 million kWh of electricity a year for use by the region -- that is enough to power nearly 2,700 homes for a full year! Invest in a local green initiative by offsetting your carbon footprint.

See below the fantastic opportunity to offset your carbon footprint and support a local green initiative at the same time!

Global warming is the most important issue that we face as a nation today. Carbonfund.org is working to help provide people with ways to reduce what you can, and offset what you can't. Please see Environmental Defense Fund's website to find practical and effective ways to reduce your carbon footprint. It is critically important that you not only take steps to reduce your footprint but also to offset the emissions that we are all responsible for from driving, flying and enjoying other amenities such as heat for our homes.

Please Note: All transactions made on this page are exclusively between Carbonfund.org and the purchaser. Environmental Defense Fund does not receive any monetary benefit from these transactions.

Offsetting your footprint is simple:

1. Go to this website, where you’ll find these directions: https://secure.groundspring.org/dn/index.php?aid=8878#NewBedford

2. Select an amount to offset (the average American is responsible for 24 tons of CO2 per year)

3. Select from one of the projects below. All projects listed are included in the CarbonOffsetList.org, Environmental Defense Fund's guide to credible, high-quality carbon offset projects.

4. That’s it!

Make sure to select…
